Drugstore Make-up for Newbies

To my hunnies (the newbies) who have been asking me countless questions regarding makeup products. This post is dedicated to you to briefly cover the basic products you may need to achieve a minimal yet flawless facebeat. Ya’ll know I love using products that are affordable for both you and I, so with that being said you’ll be spending just over R500 to start your makeup kit. Unbelievable, right?! So continue reading to see what you need to get to get slaying girl.

After moisturizing my face I move straight onto my foundation, using the LA Girl Pro Coverage HD Long wear Illuminating Foundation in the shade bronze. This has been the best drugstore foundation I have used thus far. He’re’s a direct link to my review on this foundation, in case you’d like to find out more about the foundation before purchasing it http://naidenemaitland.com/2017/02/27/review-la-girl-pro-coverage-hd-long-wear-illuminating-foundation/.  In a nut shell, the foundation is lightweight so it looks very natural on the skin but still buildable to give you the desired coverage. I use a regular beauty sponge to blend in and spread the foundation evenly across my face and I do this by dabbing the sponge onto my face. Once I am done with my foundation I proceed by spritizing my Essence Instant Matt Make-up Setting Spray all over my face to avoid my skin from looking greasy and to ensure that my foundation stays in place. To add length and volume to my lashes I use my current absolute favourite drugstore mascara called The Essence False Lashes Mascara Dramatic Volume Unlimited. This mascara just makes my heart happy <3. The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in seduction has a sweet scent to it, reminiscent of childhood treats I just can’t get what the smell is but I absolutely love it. It is a beautiful everyday shade and has a velvety matte texture to it while leaving my lips feeling moisturized. Last but not least, I finish off the process by going in with my Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara in the shade browny brows. It adds a tint of colour to my brows and helps to tame the unruly hairs especially those at the tail of my brow (gives me a headache).

So there you have it; a quick run down on achieving a decent everyday makeup look using five makeup products in under 10 minutes. Don’t say I didn’t tell ya’ll!
