Review: TRESemmé Expert Selection Botanique Nourish and Replenish Shampoo and Conditioner

Today I am giving you the scoop on TRESemmé’s Expert Selection Nourish and Replenish Shampoo and Conditioner. I’m talking: full product review, product rating, price and most importantly, would I repurchase it? Now, before we get to it, I’d like to give you guys a brief introduction to the product. TRESemmé’s Botanique Nourish and Replenish Shampoo is infused with coconut milk and aloe vera; the sodium laureth sulfate is formulated to thoroughly cleanse hair of any oils and product build up. However, it does have adverse effects of drying out your ends, that’s why TRESemmé supplemented the product with coconut milk for added moisture which brilliantly compensates for the sodium laureth sulfate leaving you with oil free, nourished hair.  TRESemmé Botanique Nourish and Replenish Conditioner contains coconut milk and aloe vera, and both the shampoo and conditioner are free from parabens and dyes. The aleo vera contains enzymes called proteolytic which repairs dead skin cells on your scalp while replenishing your hair. It promotes growth and leaves your hair feeling smooth and looking shiny. So, in terms of nourishment and protection, this shampoo and conditioner has hit the mark; But has it really? Lets find out.

My Beauty Tips

It’s all well and wonderful buying products that contain healthy ingredients, but if it is not being used properly, you simply won’t get the full results you so desire. To really optimize the product to it’s fullest potential and to see the results you’ve hoped for, I have listed three of my tips on using the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish and Replenish Shampoo and Conditioner.

  1. Rinse, rinse, rinse! Especially when using shampoo, ensure that the product has been rinsed thoroughly because shampoo tends to cause hair to appear dry if not rinsed properly. A great way of ensuring that there is no product left on your hair, is to massage your scalp using circular motions and if foam appears that means you need to rinse it again, if not you can now condition your hair.

2. It is important that you shampoo and condition your hair. While shampoos remove unwanted products, dead cells and dirt from hair and scalp, it also leaves the hair cuticle in a state where it is more vulnerable to damage. This is where conditioner comes in to save the day, it reduces the swelling of the cuticle, smooths, protects and softens the hair strand. Ensure that you massage the product into your scalp and work your way down to the ends to get optimal results from usage of the product.

3. Now, I know every article you probably ever read told you never to comb your hair when wet but I’m going ahead and saying I prefer combing my hair when wet and conditioned because its softer and tangles can be removed with ease. A thin comb causes excessive hair loss and it has the potential to damage your hair strands, so spare yourself the pain and use a wide tooth comb.

My Beauty Hacks

Once I have thoroughly rinsed the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish and Replenish Shampoo from my hair, I apply my TRESemmé Botanique Nourish and Replenish Conditioner to my hair by massaging it into my scalp for five minutes, using circular motions. This increases my blood circulation to my hair follicles which stimulates hair growth. On a lazy hair day – I apply my TRESemmé Botanique Nourish and Replenish Conditioner to my hair after washing it and not only does it add moisture- to my dry, dull ends but it also makes my curls appear tighter.

Has Tresemme Helped Me?

I mentioned in my recent hair videos that I went for a Keratin Treatment last year, so I was advised to avoid shampoo that contains sulfate. Hence, I was a little skeptical when I first read that the shampoo contains sulfate. However, this shampoo has lower levels of sulfate and it contains properties that are high in moisture. Thus, I was keen on putting it to the test. It cleansed my hair and although my scalp was left looking even more flakey, it did not leave my hair looking dried out. After I applied the conditioner and oil mask, I could immediately feel and see the results. Beside the fact that I am overdue on a trim, the difference between the before and after is quite evident. My hair looks better, it feels soft and it is full of moisture.

Would I repurchase it?

Although, my hair was thoroughly cleansed after washing it with the TRESemmé Botanique Nourish and Replenish Shampoo; I am not pro-sulfate and would rather avoid using products that contain sulfate. I will however use the shampoo when necessary (with oil masks) until it is done but would not consider repurchasing it. The conditioner, one the other hand, well it might just become a holy-grail!
