You didn’t see this one coming, did you? I, certainly did not foresee the day models would walk the streets in what I grew up knowing to be a night dress. Well, it’s not exactly the first time we see the slip dress make its rounds on the streets. Specifically pointing to the fact that I was clearly still playing doll house when Princess Diana walked the red carpet in her Dior slip dress in 1996. Its large range of textures from silk to lace and floral detailing has certainly opened up this trend to the everyday consumer. This 90’s nostalgic trend has to be my favourite to leave the bedroom.
‘Slip It Up’
Jazz up this elegant piece by pairing it with a dainty necklace, in this case a choker, your favourite statement heel, not forgetting your go-to-slingbag and Voila! You’re good to paint the town red with your girls.
‘Slip It Down’
To add a casual touch to this ensemble layer it with a t-shirt, staple boots and accessorize with minimalistic pieces.
Are you slipping it up or down come Spring?
